Sedulous Bricoleur

Stochastic (from the Greek στόχος for aim or guess) means random. A stochastic process is one whose behavior is non-deterministic, in that a system's subsequent state is determined both by the process's predictable actions and by a random element.
Right turn, Clyde.
I was looking for cool sunglasses and then it struck me that Dennis Hopper is going to be dead. When I was 18 and struggling through the birthing cries of declaring myself a man, Easy Rider was one of my power-flicks. I didn't cotton so much to Captain America as I did to Billy and George. Where Wyatt was this philosophical wooden indian, George was dropping out where had been falling apart and Billy could have flipped the bird all the way to Mexico. They also had cool sunglasses.

I was reading up on lady pirates and looking for flags when I remembered a book from my childhood. It dealt with a boy living with his father in an East coast resort town and cursing the Summerfolk. Drifting by himself in a swamp, he is introduced to a string of fanciful characters, each piloting a boat more fantastic and absurd than the last. The first one he met was a pirate. I remember that. That cover is such a clear memory for me. I adored the book because the protagonist was this sullen curmudgeon that pouted with his arms crossed and refused to be impressed.

I started thinking about how you'd mentioned war once. These archives reward perusal.

Garry Winogrand's name has come up twice today.
